Captain Molly: A Blog for and by Military Women

CaptainMolly.com, a website for all women warriors, is named after historical figure Margaret Corbin. She was nicknamed Captain Molly after she took over her dying husband’s cannon while defending Fort Washington in New York in 1776. Molly was wounded and became the first woman to receive a pension from the United States Government for her service in combat.

The website allows women to anonymously post their funniest or most outrageous experience while serving. The site has been online since mid September. In the inaugural post called Welcome Ladies!, Maggie Haynes writes:

There is a lot of unfunny when it comes to women in the service.  Rape, harassment, inequality; I’m not diminishing any of that, but on this blog I’m more prone to write about how my uniform pants make my rear end look as long and flat as a football field.
