Taryn Davis is one of the people I remembered this past Memorial Day. The day is set aside as much for the families of the fallen as it is for those who sacrificed their lives.
Her husband, Cpl. Michael Davis, was killed May 21, 2007 by multiple roadside bombs in Baghdad, Iraq.
Taryn’s journey through the unfamiliar world a military widow soon became a cause for her. She listened to the stories of other young widows from the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan and founded the non-profit organization, the American Widow Project, which is focused on the new generation of widows and helping them heal each other.
