Tampa VA Hospital Parade, Antique Cars & Cookout – 10 a.m. – The public is invited to celebrate with Veterans, their family and the staff that care for them at the James A. Haley Veterans’ Hospital. It’s a full afternoon of honoring Veterans, November 12, with a ceremony, parade and cookout in front of the Fisher House on the campus of the Tampa hospital. More than 51 Veteran and civic groups will march in the parade. Antique cars will be on display and Haley Director Kathleen R. Fogarty is set to deliver the keynote address. St. Leo University Ceremony – 11 a.m. – Visitors are welcomed to attend the 2012 Veterans Day observance Monday, November 12, at University Campus in east Pasco County. The ceremony will be held in the Marion Bowman Activities Center and feature speaker Assistant Professor and retired U.S. Army Col. Angela Manos-Sittnick, a wounded warrior. Dr. Manos-Sittnick will be part of a special presentation. The ceremony will also include a wreath presentation, a moment of silence, the parade of colors, an acknowledgement of the veterans present, and a dove release. Mahaffey Theater Fund-Raiser – Monday is the final day that a $1 will be donated to the Veteran’s Airlift Command for every special $19.99 Orchestra-level seats to the hottest shows of the season such as “This is the 60s,” “Cirque Chinois,” and “Elvis Lives” among others scheduled at Mahaffey Theater.
